• Necessary Documents: Have your passport and a valid driver’s license ready, regardless of your country of origin.
• Costa Rica Entry: Ensure your passport holds a valid Costa Rica entry stamp that covers your entire rental period.

• Modifications: Adjusting your reservation might influence the final rate.
• Rental Duration: Our rental period is set in 24-hour increments. A 2-hour extension is possible (subject to approval and availability).
• Cancellations and Changes: Notify us 72 hours prior to your rental’s start if you need to cancel or alter your plans.
• No-Show Policy: If you choose not to pick up the car at the designated time, a 2-day rental fee plus applicable fees will be billed.

• Currency: Our quotes are provided in USD for straightforward pricing. We also accept Costa Rican local currency, Colon, for payment. Please let us know if you’d like to pay in Colons and we’ll gladly provide the conversion.
• All-Inclusive: No hidden surprises – the quote you receive is the total amount, no extra fees during pickup.
• Validity Period: Quotes remain valid for 10 days. Rates may change due to availability beyond this period.
• Confirming Your Quote: Once you’re ready, confirm your reservation to lock in the quoted rate. Please note that vehicles are not reserved for unconfirmed reservations.

• Seamless Pickup: Arriving at San Jose airport (SJO) or Quepos airport (QXP)? Your car awaits, no shuttle required.
• Convenient Delivery: Staying in San Jose? Your vehicle can come to you at no extra cost.
• Nationwide Reach: We extend our reach across Costa Rica, including the Liberia airport (LIR), though additional fees might apply based on delivery location.
• Grace Period: When you book with us, a 2-hour grace period is automatically provided. This ensures that you won’t be charged an extra day if you need a couple of extra hours before returning the vehicle. It’s our way of making your rental experience even smoother, right from the start.

• Authorized Drivers: Only drivers listed on the rental agreement can operate the vehicle.
• Safe Vehicle Operation: Drivers will always obey and follow all traffic rules of Costa Rica. Unsafe, negligent or unlawful operation of the vehicle may result in loss of security deposit, loss of insurance coverage, as well as additional penalties. Driving under the influence of alcohol or any other illicit substances is strictly prohibited and may result in serious penalties.
• Mileage: Unlimited mileage is included with your rental.
• Vehicle Care: Perform a basic vehicle inspection before and after rides, especially after off-road adventures. Check those tires and essentials.
• Where Not to Go: No water crossings, beach escapades, border crossings, or towing permitted.
• Approval for Add-Ons: Any modifications to the vehicle require prior written consent from Jaco Car Rental.
• What’s Allowed: Heading out for a surf? Roof racks may be provided (availability dependent).
• Handling Damage: Everyday wear is expected, but substantial damage or permanent stains will incur charges.
• Fuel: Our SUVs take regular gasoline. Our camper trucks use diesel fuel. You’ll receive a full tank at the start, so kindly return it with the same fuel level.

• Booster seats are complimentary, so your older children travel safely.
• Baby car seats are available for a small fee, saving you the trouble of bringing your own.

• Smoke-Free Zone: Smoking is strictly prohibited within the vehicle. Violations incur a $200 fine.
• Clean & Fresh: We cover basic cleaning in the rental price, no worries. Excessive dirtiness, permanent stains, or damages will incur charges.
